Before starting a contract on Upwork, clients review freelancers’ skills and experience to make sure they’re a fit for the job. They often struggle to find and trust signals that a freelancer's skills fit their job. 40% of clients who didn't send an offer said applicants didn't show relevant experience. About 50% of clients using search weren't sure they could find the right freelancer.
My work
- Audited client flows, including freelancer search and application management to identify the freelancer signals that build client confidence.
- Owned the vision and execution of a dynamic profile summary that highlights the freelancer's work and skills most contextually relevant to the client's search or job post.
- Partnered with my product manager and user researcher to design a freelancer survey to help improve summary accuracy.
